About
Located in an historic townhouse built in the 18th century, Gossypia has offered an eclectic combination of folk art, clothing and jewelry for 37 years.
Folk Art
Gossypia offers an array of folk art from Latin America. Visit the second floor to see one of the largest collections of handcrafted nativities and other folk art, in wood and pottery, in the Washington, DC area. Gossypia also carries an extensive collection of Day of the Dead art from Mexico, and the store celebrates that famous feast day on November 2nd. See other decorative items such as mirrors and wall crosses.
Clothing
The clothing collection features beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces from creative artists such as Steel Pony, Lee Anderson, and Citron. There is nothing ordinary about the clothing carried in the shop!
Jewelry
The theme of being one-of-a-kind runs through Gossypia’s jewelry collection, as well. The collection includes pieces from Israel’s Ayala Bar and Stefans. There are lovely Turquoise and Silver pieces from Federico and the designer, Chipita, who is a Native American woman from Colorado.
